University of Arkansas, Alpha Delta Pi Sorority

To excel in sorority recruitment, practice is key. You've already completed the necessary steps, like submitting references, registering with your College Panhellenic, and cleaning up your social media. But what else can you do to prepare?

Focusing on your conversational skills is crucial. Your goal is to make a lasting first impression and receive an invitation back for the next round. Remember: this process is about making friends, particularly those who will become your new BFFs and sisters for the next four years.

During each round of recruitment, you'll attend events or parties where you'll meet one to several sorority girls from each house. Make the most of these opportunities by sharing about yourself and learning about the sororities and girls in each house. Building connections is essential to stay memorable and win the hearts of your future sisters.

If you're a mom who went through rush years ago, you'll notice that recruitment has changed. Years ago, it was all about entertaining potential “rushies” with skits and dances, and making small talk was just a small portion of the event. Nowadays, it's more about your values and how you can give back to the community you're joining. A mom recently told me this after her daughter attended our Sorority Prep Workshop:

It’s been a long time since I went through rush and so much has changed since then. I work full time and travel as well, so having Leslie there to guide us through the preparation eased both of our minds and took all of the guesswork out of it. The workshop prepared my daughter in such a wonderful way! The entire day was thoughtfully planned by Leslie, including having the girls dress up as if going to a rush party and practice having guided conversations with each other. Leslie has a calming nature and she was always very responsive to questions. Leslie has an incredible depth of information, knowledge, and encouragement about the entire process. As a working mom, her help to me and my daughter was invaluable. My daughter is so happy and has made some amazing new friends as a result of rushing! Thank you Leslie!

To ensure that you're fully prepared for every round of recruitment, consider attending Sorority Prep's in-depth workshop. You'll learn how to make a great first impression and keep yourself in the game until Bid Day. From beginning to end, clients leave confident to take on any round of recruitment, especially the conversations. Let’s be real, texting and DMing may be easy, but face-to-face interactions require a different set of skills. Let Sorority Prep help you master the art of conversation, so you can confidently navigate the recruitment process and find your perfect match. We’ve got you girl!
